A LITTLE SLOW DOWN

After two marathon days of stitching over the weekend, my Monday night progress was...less.

I was at the grocery store when my next project hit me...right there in the pasta and rice aisle.

"Printemps!", I hollered.

(And may I just say right here and right now that I really am very truly sorry that my outburst caused a Real Housewife of Granger to drop her Louie and run for the exit like her hair was on fire.)

(I didn't mean to cause a fuss...I really didn't.  But when inspiration strikes, one must be prepared to celebrate it.  Mustn't one?)

So after groceries were put away and the kitchen was tidy and the nap and dinner dispatched with care, I hit the Happy Chair.
The sum total of what I accomplished is that wavy line at the bottom of her dress.

Phooey.

I did, however, manage to watch another six episodes of West Wing and paint my fingernails to match my toes.

(Coke bottle green looks much better from a distance and when it's covered by shoes and socks, so methinks there will be a re-do of said nails to something a little less...blech...this afternoon.)

So Printemps it is.  At least for the moment.  I still haven't had my studio day, and heaven only knows what treasures are to be found up there!

Here's hoping that your Tuesday is off to a lovely start!  Come tell me all about it!

  2. Nothing exciting happening around here. I was a good girl, though; I ate a bowl of oatmeal BEFORE a slice of sour cream coffee cake! It's the little things that make me proud these days...

  4. Oh Coni, thank you for the chuckle! One wavy line stitched is one less you have to do.

  5. Those Four Seasons girls are just so darn pretty! They've been sitting hopefully in my stash for I hate to think how long, but I'm getting closer! I'm over half-way through the Laura J Perin patchwork piece with the leaping trout in the middle, which I'm doing as a gift for an old friend, in memory of her late father, who was a trout fisherman of note; after that I want to do a winter landscape of bare trees silhouetted against a rising ... sun? moon? Can't tell - my source is black and white! And after that, just maybe, I might go four-times seasonal. Or not; I've got a lovely design based on the Bayeux Tapestry of the Norman invasion fleet, and a huge one of two William Morris swans facing each other across some reeds. Some day! But it's good to know I can rely on you to go on stitching up a storm and setting us all a very good example. Keep up the good work!

  7. It's pouring rain here. A good day to stroll thru facebook and blogs. Will be stitching after picking up the grandkid from school and home and dry again.

  10. Thanks to your inspiration, dear one, I have ordered the linen from 123 and once received, will commence the CM
heart of flowers. Unbidden, impromptu, but irresistible.
Now to give it the Coni touches of patience and perfection, not to mention rapidity. Enjoy the Printemps.

  11. I just started this., meaning I got the thread, fabric, and pattern all in one place, marked the corner to start, threaded my needles, found the thread waxer, and put it in the Q Snap. Stitch? Oh goodness no, the prep work wore me out!

  15. I had to laugh Miss Spinster!! I often have those same inspirations!! We had our Market Night last night and I picked up two new Patriotic Patterns. Like I needed them but I have been on a Stacy Nash roll and the primitive stitching bug has taken a nibble at me. I have read your blog for a long time but being a lurker from Edgar's page. I so enjoy your stitching and your sense of humor! Thanks for sharing your life with us.

  16. Coni, this pattern is ginormous, isn't it? I'm considering stitching it over one on a 28 or 30. What is your opinion, or anyone who has stitched it?
Did you have the now d/c'ed BOAF Barn Owl fabric, or did you substitute? (Obviously I have not talen needle and thread to fabric yet).

  18. Nice choice. A wavy line is more than what I have stitched in months.
